Last Monday in Colorado A horse named Summer Fall into the basement from window wells that I just read in news. It is a wonder how this can happen a heavy animal like horse falling from the basement window well covers. How dangerrous it is to hear the news. It was real, that happened last Monday in Colorado at the house located at Sum country Drive no. 9151 about 9 am in the morning.
One of the vitum says "When I was going to have my morning coffee, I heard the loud noice from the crash outside” another witness said "When I was trying to get the rope to safe the house from falling, she had already fallen into the window well halfway.”
Nobody knows how the horse Summer came through the Plexiglas window wells. But it just remind me how important to keep our basement window wells safe with installing quality window well cover. I am sure there are some company who provide well covers that can stand enough weight to protect the heavy animals from falling. It is true the horse is heavy more then 1100lb weight but if we have installed metal frame under the gass well cover that can surely keep the horse safe.
So the house owner need to call the police as emergency and eveybody was shocked by the news. Summer was lucky after the incident, her neck or leg can easily be broken from falling. She was in good condition after about 5 hour she came out of the basement without hearting anything except from some scrapes. By looking at this accident I would success every household to install secure well cover if the well is sicuated in the walk way.
